Welcome back, dear retro gamers! It's been over six years since my last title, and I think you've all given up hope of seeing a new Lionsft game, but alas, many factors are preventing it from returning!
Oh well, true indie games have made great strides in recent years, and no one will miss them anymore (my products have become decidedly uncompetitive). I don't want to close any doors on this; every now and then, I find myself thinking back to the carefree years when I spent a few too many nights on Game Maker, and I do so with great nostalgia.
I hope all my old aficionados continue to enjoy our loved video games, because, whatever anyone says, they are fantastic! Ciao!

Ben ritrovati carissimi retro-giocatori. Sono passati ormai più di 6 anni dalla mia ultima pubblicazione e ormai credo abbiate un po' tutti perso le speranze di vedere un nuovo gioco Lionosft ma, ahimè, tanti fattori ne impediscono il ritorno!
Pazienza dai, i veri giochi indie hanno fatto passi da gigante negli ultimi anni e ormai nessuno ne sentirà la mancanza (i miei prodotti sono diventati decisamente poco competitivi). Con questo non voglio chiudere nessuna porta, ogni tanto mi ritrovo infatti a pensare agli anni spensierati in cui passavo qualche nottata di troppo su Game Maker e lo faccio con estrema nostalgia.
Mi auguro che tutti i miei vecchi aficionados continuino imperterriti a divertirsi con i nostri amati videogiochi poichè, checchè se ne dica, sono ancora fantastici! Ciauz!

And here we are, at the usual time of year when I love to celebrate the console that marked a before and after in the world of video games, thanks to its amazing, courageous, pioneering software library, and indeed its groundbreaking capabilities—capabilities that, among other things, allowed online gaming on consoles for the first time in the West. Come on, Dreamcast, for 26 years just thinking about you has made my heart skip a beat.

Ed eccoci qua con il consueto momento dell'anno in cui amo festeggiare la console che ha segnato un prima e un dopo nel mondo dei videogiochi, grazie alla sua strepitosa, coraggiosa, pionieristica, e quant'altro libreria software ma anche per le sue pionieristiche doti, doti che, tra l'altro, permetterono per la prima volta in occidente il gioco online su console. And like every year... Happy Anniversary Sonic! This year we are at 34 dear blue hedgehog and, even if there is not a shadow of gray between your wonderful blue quills, know that next year you have to prepare yourself properly to celebrate 35 in style! Of course, everything will depend on mother Sega but, given how the last year went with the beautiful Sonic X Shadow Generations (which is worth playing even just for the splendid part dedicated to Shadow), the magnificent third film of the hedgehog (my favorite so far) and the announce of CrossWorlds we can expect fireworks! Go Sonic, go Sega!

Quest'anno siamo a 34 caro riccio blu e, anche se tra i tuoi meravigliosi aculei blu non si intravede un'ombra di grigio, sappi che l'anno prossimo tocca prepararti per benino in modo da festeggiare alla grande i 35! Certo, tutto dipenderà da mamma Sega ma, visto che come è andato l'ultimo anno con il bellissimo Sonic X Shadow Generations (che vale la pena giocare anche solo per la splendida parte dedicata a Shadow), il magnifico terzo film del riccio (il mio preferito finora) e l'annuncio di CrossWorlds possiamo aspettarci fuochi d'artificio! Forza Sonic, forza Sega!

Winter with Lionsoft / Inverno con Lionsoft

The Winter is too long, huh? But for us gamers it can be very fun thanks to these two Lionsoft titles with a glacial setting!
Here's Pen-Go! Arctic trouble, a fun fixed-screen puzzle platformer in which, in the feathers of the penguin Pen-Go you'll have to cross 30+ levels solving environmental puzzles to save your beloved Penny who has been trapped over a cliff! The game isn't very long but it will give you an unforgettable hour!

Then there is Twinkle Tales in which you will have to impersonate an apprentice wizard and save the Snowimps in this classic platformer in which you will exploit the powers of your wand through 5 levels (and some surprises) of pure platforming with great graphics full of details! Master the power of fire and thunder and have fun trying out various combinations on enemies and game objects while making your way through a thousand pitfalls. Lungo l'inverno, eh? Ma per noi gamer può essere uno spasso grazie a questi due titoloni Lionsoft ad ambientazione glaciale!
Ecco Pen-Go! Arctic trouble, un divertente puzzle platform a schermata fissa in cui, nei panni (o meglio nelle piume) del pinguino Pen-Go dovrete attraversare più di 30 livelli risolvendo puzzle ambientali per salvare la vostra amata Penny rimasta intrappolata oltre un precipizio! Il gioco non è molto lungo ma vi farà passare un'oretta indimenticabile!

C'è poi Twinkle Tales in cui dovrete impersonare un'apprendista mago e salvare gli Snowimps in questo classico platform in cui sfrutterete i poteri della vostra bacchetta attraverso 5 livelli (e qualche sorpresa) di puro platforming con una gran bella grafica ricca di dettagli! Padroneggiate il potere del fuoco e del tuono e sbizzarritevi a provare le varie combinazioni su nemici e oggetti di gioco facendovi strada tra mille insidie. As far as I'm concerned there would be CRAZY TAXI, SONIC ADVENTURE, SHENMUE, VIRTUA TENNIS, SKIES OF ARCADIA, SPACE CHANNEL 5, SOUL CALIBUR, PHANTASY STAR ONLINE, JET SET RADIO, F355 CHALLENGE, SEGA RALLY 2, THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2, SAMBA DE AMIGO... and I limited myself to one per series/genre. Who knows what it would be like...

Rollin' around at the speed of sound!

Even though this seems to be more Shadow's year (his first appearance dates back to June 23, 2001 so should he share a birthday with Sonic in your opinion?) we continue to cheer and celebrate our absolute favorite hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog, who reaches a new important milestone, the thirty-third anniversary!!!
This year we will celebrate with the remastered of one of the most successful 3D videogame of the saga, Sonic Generations, enriched by some extras and the presence of Shadow with a story dedicated to him in which we will experience improved gameplay based on the powers of Chaos Control (at least according to the words of its creator, Takashi Iizuka). The release of SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS is scheduled for each system on October 25th so there won't be long to wait.
Let's not forget the third Sonic movie sheduled in december in which the black hedgehog, Sonic's nemesis and ally, will make his appearance. Another tasty autumn awaits for Sonic fans, get ready!

Anche se questo pare essere più l'anno di Shadow (la sua prima apparizione risale al 23 Giungo 2001 quindi dovrebbe condividere il compleanno con Sonic secondo voi?) noi continuiamo ad acclamare e festeggiare il nostro riccio preferito in assoluto, Sonic The Hedgehog, che raggiunge un nuovo importante traguardo, il trentatreesimo anniversario!!!
Quest'anno festeggeremo con la remastered di uno dei videogiochi 3d più riusciti della saga, Sonic Generations, arricchito da alcuni extra e dalla presenza di Shadow con una storia a lui dedicata in cui sperimenteremo un gameplay leggermente differente basato sui poteri del Chaos Control (stando almeno alle parole del suo creatore, Takashi Iizuka). L'uscita di SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS è prevista per ogni sistema il 25 Ottobre quindi non ci sarà moltissimo da aspettare.
Non dimentichiamoci poi del terzo film di Sonic in uscita a fine anno, in cui farà la sua comparsa proprio il porcospino nero, nemesi e alleato del nostro.
Si prospetta un altro gustoso autunno per i fan di Sonic, preparatevi!

It was a game without great pretensions which however enjoyed great success with the public. It was 2011... Do you want to try it again?

24 years ago one of the most innovative (and unfortunate) consoles in all of history was released across Europe, here is the Sega Dreamcast, the first console to allow you to play on the Internet thanks, among others, to the immense Phantasy Star Online itself icon of online gaming of the 2000s. And don't forget that it was the first console to rely on an operative system like Windows! But do we want to talk about the Visual Memory Unit? An ingenious device which, in addition to allowing the progress of the various games to be saved, became a real micro console which allowed you to play some simple games even away from the main console and in some cases, load the progress obtained on the main game to obtain new power-ups or effects
Dreamcast marked an era and consoles today probably wouldn't be the same without its contribution.

24 anni fa usciva in tutta Europa una delle console più innovative (e sfortunate) di tutta la storia, ecco il Sega Dreamcast, la prima console a permettere di giocare su Internet grazie, tra gli altri, all'immenso Phantasy Star Online vera e propria icona del gaming online anni 2000. Non dimentichiamoci inoltre che è stata la prima console ad appoggiarsi ad un sistema operativo come Windows! Ma vogliamo parlare della Visual Memory Unit? Un dispositivo geniale che, oltre ad assicurare il salvataggio dei progressi dei vari giochi, diventava una vera e propria micro console tascabile che permetteva di giocare ad alcuni semplici giochini anche lontano dalla console principale e in alcuni casi, caricare i progressi ottenuti sul gioco principale per ottenere nuovi potenziamenti od effetti (ricordate Sonic Adventure con il suo Chao Garden? Geniale).
Dreamcast ha segnato un'epoca e probabilmente le console oggi non sarebbero le stesse senza il suo apporto.

A Turbo Anniversary!!! / Un Anniversario col Turbo!!!

Last year we were here to rejoice for the wonderful gaming year (and not only) that was passing our favorite hedgehog but i never imagined this could be even better! New DLC for Sonic Frontiers (that contrary to the premises is a great game) a (to be honest uninteresting) update for Sonic Origins that will introduce Amy Rose as a playable character and a series of Game Gear games out of context in my opinion (at this point they could have put the underrated Sonic 3d, maybe taking as a basic the Saturn version and performing the usual excellent work of "remastering" and Sonic Spinball just for completeness). But the best I left for last: Sonic Superstars! It was a real surprise and, of course, the title that I look forward to play. As if that were not enough, here's new episodes of Sonic Prime coming to Netflix and the Knuckles series on Paramount Plus! This will be another GREAT year for Sonic!

L'anno scorso eravamo qui a rallegrarci dello splendido anno videoludico (e non solo) che stava passando il nostro riccio preferito ma mai avrei immaginato questo potesse essere ancora migliore! Nuovi DLC per Sonic Frontiers (che, contro ogni aspettativa si è rivelato un giocone!) un (a dir a verità poco interessante) update per Sonic Origins che introdurrà Amy Rose come personaggio giocabile e una serie di giochi Game Gear decisamente prescindibili e fuori contesto a mio parere (a questo punto avrebbero potuto metterci il sottovalutato Sonic 3d, magari prendendo come base la versione Saturn e svolgendo il solito ottimo lavoro di "rimasterizzazione" e Sonic Spinball giusto per completezza). Il meglio però l'ho lasciato per ultimo: Sonic Superstars! E chi se lo aspettava? E' stata un'autentica sorpresa e, sicuramente, il titolo che aspetto con più interesse. Come se non bastasse sono in arrivo i nuovi episodi di Sonic Prime su Netflix e la serie dedicata a Knuckles dalla Paramount! Inutile girarci attorno: si prospetta un altro anno coi botti per Sonic, quindi...
Buon trentaduesimo anniversario inarrestabile Riccio!!!

An high speed year! / Un anno a tutta velocità!

This is an explosive year for the sprinter Sega: in addition to the movie released in April (and that is still getting an incredible success), today, the day of its 31st anniversary, "the blue" is preparing to celebrate with Sonic Origins, an elegant collection of 4 (or 5 depending on the point of view) classic episodes to discover (or rediscover). In addition, coming at the end of the year, here is Sonic Frontiers, new, controversial, 3d episode of the saga! Well, in my small I decided to celebrate by inviting you to rediscover two of the best Lionsoft games dedicated to the blue hedgehog: Sonic Origins, 2007, made together with G! Soft and Sonic Origins 2 released in 2011 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the hedgehog. Have fun!!!

Questo è proprio un anno esplosivo per il velocista Sega: oltre al film uscito in aprile (e che sta tuttora ottenendo un successo incredibile), oggi, giorno del suo trentunesimo anniversario, "il blu" si prepara a festeggiare con Sonic Origins, un'elegante raccolta di 4 (o 5 a seconda dei punti di vista) episodi classici da scoprire (o riscoprire). Inoltre, in arrivo a fine anno, ecco Sonic Frontiers, nuovo, controverso episodio in 3d della saga! Beh, nel mio piccolo ho deciso di festeggiare invitandovi a riscoprire due tra i migliori giochi Lionsoft dedicati al porcospino blu: Sonic Origins, del 2007, realizzato insieme a G! Soft e Sonic Origins 2 uscito nel 2011 per festeggiare il 20° anniversario del riccio. Buon divertimento!!!
